Air-water heat pumps are not only the simplest but also the cheapest choice. Air is all around us, so this heat pump can be installed in virtually any building without high additional costs or interventions.

Orca air-to-water heat pumps achieve such high heating numbers (COPs) that they are comparable to much more expensive systems that use groundwater or soil as an energy source.

EXTRA SAFETY – STANDARD!

All Orca heat pumps have a standard built-in electric heater, which means unconditional SAFETY for you. In the event of extreme cold, when temperatures drop below -28 degrees Celsius, or in the event of a defect in the outdoor unit, the standard-installed electric heater provides you with domestic hot water and heated rooms without interruption.

Does a standard-installed electric heater mean higher electricity costs? NOT AT ALL!

The three-stage electric heater, 3 x 3 kW, does not always work when the heat pump is running and only starts by turning it on in the settings. When turning on the electric heater, the customer or service department can also select the desired power or level: 3, 6 or 9 kW.

You will quickly get used to the straightforward, intuitively designed user interface. To make it easier, some heat pump models have a built-in touch screen with the same user interface. That way, you won’t have to learn to use it twice.

Heat pump installation at low temperatures is possible!

This is possible with the help of electric heaters, installed as standard parts. Imagine that the long-awaited move into a new house was delayed until the temperature dropped, and it is suddenly -5 degrees Celsius outside. The house has not been heated until now; the walls are cold, the filled water in the heating system is cold, and the temperature in the house is hovering around zero. In such conditions, the heat pump would need several days after installation to heat the entire house to the desired temperature.

When the heat pump is started for the first time at low outside temperatures, the installer can switch on the reheating function with the help of electric heaters for the desired number of hours, which reduces the heating time of the cooled house by more than three quarters. The electric heaters switch off automatically after the set time has elapsed. In this case, the savings in electricity consumption will be much greater than if the heat pump had been operating at 100% power for several days to reach the desired temperatures.

Orca heat pumps with Mitsubishi Electric outdoor units achieve high coefficients of performance; Up to 5.2!

The COP or coefficient of performance tells us how many kilowatts of heat energy a heat pump generates for 1 kilowatt of electricity it needs to operate. COP 5.2 means that the heat pump will use less than 20% of electricity to reach the desired temperatures, and all other energy will be obtained from the air, which for you is, of course, ABSOLUTELY FREE!
